I think the police should be able to get evidence by any means bugging or hidden camera`s as long as it is justified

They have to get permission from the person or a court and have to provide evidence that they think that a serious crime is about to take place, with mobile phones they usually get permission from the telephone company but with the latest technology they can even listen in to your conversation through your mobile when switched off if you leave the battery in , Nokia in particular. Obviously it would have to be o.k'd by a very senior officer. I think this is more common than people realise. The Police sometimes install secret camera and recording Equipment in informants homes with their permission.

It used to be the Home Secretary that gave permission, but who knows now. I beginning to wonder if they do just what they like.
